Adversity An Advantage

To repeat the wisdom of William Hazlitt,
We can always learn more from challenging times than from good times. When things are going great we sometimes become a bit more relaxed. But when things are not going so great we try and learn what is causing the challenges.
We have this experience all the time in our business, and with the websites. When they are doing well, we do not learn as much. But, let me tell you, when they drop in rankings or have issues, we are researching and reading to try and correct the problem.
Adversity is the catalyst that forces us to stretch. It propels us to find solutions to problems we never would have considered if not for adversity. Again, using the websites as an example, when faced with adversity, we look at them in an entirely new light. We try things that previously we would not have even attempted. This is true of any profession or situation. In trying to resolve our issue, we stretch ourselves.
Adversity can provide the fuel that sparks new strengths we didn't realize we had within us. We can sometimes amaze ourselves if we don't get hung up in feeling sorry for our self. If we have the right attitude and look at adversity as an opportunity to discover new things, we will find strength that we did not realize that we even had.
How we cope with adversity is also a learning experience. There are times in all of our lives where we have handled adversity well, and times where we have not.
Keeping a positive attitude when faced with adversity is one of the secrets of success. Rather than give up or be discouraged, if we keep a positive outlook we will find solutions to our issues will come much more easily.
Next time adversity strikes, remember, you can use it to your advantage by learning from it. Let adversity be a teacher to you.
