Poet: Julie Hebert, © 2012 There is a day that's marked, For us to give our thanks. This day called thanksgiving comes, But once a year in the ranks. And although this day is used, By each and everyone. Thanks shouldn't be just a yearly date, Once a day it should be done. Or every time you feel, Something good has come your way. No matter if it's more often, Than once of every day. Can thanks be given too much, I don't believe this so. Giving thanks should be done as often, As good things happen in a row. Give thanks for your health, And for your family too. And don't forget your pet, And the bone he has to chew. Give thanks for the seasons, And all experiences you've been given. Give thanks for those you've helped, And also for who you've forgiven. Give thanks for all that's little, Not just for the big things. Though you may not realize it, Little things tie together like strings. But most importantly give thanks, For who you are today. You're kind, loving and courageous, And I give thanks for you each day. |
