Living A More Positive Life
Author: Catherine Pulsifer
To live a more positive life is the desire of many people throughout the world.
However, some people seem to defeat themselves before they even
get started by adopting many unconscious behaviors.
For some people, for example, they start off the day by unconsciously
choosing to feed their minds with many self-defeating behaviors.
One of these behaviors is to launch their day with chaos caused by
tuning their radios into morning radio shows that only offer the
latest world news events and local traffic reports.
Some of these programs seem to inadvertently take their listeners
into a whirl wind of issues and concerns. If and when these stations
offer music, it all seems to drive thoughts of busyness rather than positive
and inspirational melodies.
There are other ways to start our day off with a positive and
inspirational message and this becomes a conscious choice
as what is offered by "Dare2BU".
A few months ago I wrote an article featuring Jennie Emery.
The article is titled Positive Music.
As a result of writing that article, I was contacted by Chris S. Salazar, from
Dare2BU. I must say I was very pleased when I reviewed his website
and found more positive music; music that is rich and uplifting.
"The mind grows by what it feeds on." Those words of wisdom are so very true. Our minds take in everything we read and listen to. Books we read, music we listen to; it all influences our lives.
There are a lot of positive books available, however, positive music
is not as plentiful. So needless to say I was delighted with the Dare2BU
website! I now have two of the CD's from the site:
Songs of Success (my favorite!)
Dream Big (also good)
I agree with the thoughts on the Dare2BU website which is below
taken directly from their website:
"There are numerous examples of people throughout the world who have
overcome handicaps to achieve great success. One thing separates these
winners from those who fail: they disregard any and all obstacles.
These people-and all winners-possess the will to win. It's a will that
starts with a belief in our ability to achieve the goals we dream of
Unfortunately, the world does not provide much inspiration on a daily basis.
From the reporting of mostly negative news, to a "20% chance of rain"
mentality, to music that tells us that love must be a painful experience,
most people have few daily reminders that they can obtain personal and
professional greatness without having to win the lottery.
Music is by far the most wonderful methods we have to remind us
each day of the power of personal accomplishment. And now, finally,
the music industry has a new type of record company; one that is intensely
dedicated to producing songs that inspire us all to accomplish great things."
Editors note: it is with regret that I update this thought to advise that
unfortunately the website http://www.dare2bu.com/ is no longer live
on the internet, but we feel the message they were conveying are still
a valid one!
Even though the Dare2BU website is now gone it does not mean that
we can't surround ourselves with positive and uplifting music nor
does it mean that we can't fill our minds with inspirational messages
through books, articles and positive messages found on many websites.
Nourish Your Mind With Positive Thoughts
Take a few minutes each and every day to ensure that your mind is nourished
properly and positively. After all, a healthy mind leads to a happier view
of life and with a happier view of life it is much easier to counter the negative
impact other issues will have on us.
Below find thoughts about the differences of being a winner and being a loser.
Living a more positive life comes down to attitude and action. Which attitude do you display
- winning or losing?
The Difference Between Winning and Losing
Some of the significant differences between winning and losing are:
Hanging on, persevering,
Letting go, giving up easily,
Accepting responsibility for your actions,
Always having an excuse for your actions,
Taking the initiative,
Waiting to be told what to do,
Knowing what you want and setting goals to achieve it,
Wishing for things, but taking no action,
Seeing the big picture, and setting your goals accordingly,
Seeing only where you are today,
Adopt a WINNING attitude!
An interesting and intriguing title to this poem, The Workings of a Successful Mind.

Our thanks to Devin for sharing his wisdom in these verses.
The Workings of a Successful Mind
by Devin McMillan, ©2010
The powers of the mind are not fixed
and science can never explain
What makes a person a success
yet leaves another so mundane
For whatever the mind can conceive
with enough thought it will deliver
There is no goal too extreme
when your mind is a benevolent giver
Take risks in your daily life
or you can conform like the rest
Since rewards are only granted to
those who have passed this test
Know that you have the power
to succeed in numerous ways
Or you can play it safe
being mediocre for all of your days
So keep positive in all you do
wielding your list of goals in hand
Fear not what others say
just focus on your plan
Enjoy every breath that passes
and every task there is to do
Since your actions will only play
the goals you have placed in cue
And always remember to gift
a little of everything you make
For life is defined by giving
and never by what you take.
