The poem "IF" was written many years ago however still has application today. A special person recently gave me this poem. The person who gave me this poem told me about their father and how this poem represented his philosophy in life. The individual explained that they have referred back to this inspirational poem many times in their life and have tried to live their life using the principles described. Most recently this individual is going through a very challenging time in their life, one where the first two lines clearly describes what is happening to them. I have watched them and I am amazed at how they are handling the significant challenges facing them at this time. But after reading the poem, I understand how they are getting through it all, it is truly by living the principles in this poem! Enjoy the words of wisdom in this poetry.By Rudyard Kipling
