There Is Never A Time, That’s Not Now
Poet: Jim Thistle
Inspired by J.M. and The Power of Now

I think it’s a crime, that we don’t take the time,
To look at the way we can get,
Always suspecting, and always expecting,
Things, that have not happened yet.

We worry, we fear, something tragic is near,
Let our minds, get carried away,
We are here, we are there, with our thoughts everywhere,
Of tomorrow, and of yesterday.

We keep racking our brain, till we’re almost insane,
Going forward and back, like a pawn,
Seems we’re never aware, that the future’s not here,
And the past is already gone.

Still, day after day, we live in this way,
Are we programmed, or is it a curse,
Ready to run, from what hasn’t come,
And always projecting the worst.

We can make ourselves sick, when we try to predict,
And, we always end up in frustration,
Our minds are so set, that we tend to forget,
That it’s God, choosing our destination.

I’ve been thinking about, what a friend pointed out,
And I’m starting to see in just how,
It doesn’t make sense, to live so intense,
THERE IS NEVER A TIME, THAT’S NOT NOW
There is never a time, THAT'S NOT NOW

The Mistake
Poet: Wilhelmina Stitch

Why gaze so long at that mistake?
Last night it kept you wide awake,
and still you fret for its dull sake.
Don’t mope about it, foolish one.

Still may you walk beneath the sun,
the race of
life may yet be won.
A mere mistake and that is all.
A stumble and a moment’s fall.
Don’t let this little ailment gall.

Far better cry, ‘Mistake! come here.’
Into its face then bravely peer,
but do not waste one sigh or tear.
A lesson, nothing more or less,
to help you win your happiness.

Then why such sharp and deep distress?
‘Tis past, ’tis over, deem it dead;
accept the lesson, look ahead.
No wan regrets, fresh hope instead.

A mere mistake,
be not downcast,
Wisdom you’ve gained; then hold it fast.
Look straight ahead, forget the past.

Each day is your attitude one,
That is shining like the daylight sun.
Your Attitude Towards Life
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer© 2016

Do you look around and see
All life’s blessings that have fallen on thee.
Each day is your attitude one,
That is shining like the daylight sun.

You can say the cup is full
Or you can say it’s all a bunch of bull
But not matter what you say
Your attitude toward life is a choice you make each day.

Gratitude and gratefulness should be
A major factor, a major key
To living your life happily
It will help you find success definitely.

Rather than focus on what you don’t have
Focus on what you have and be glad.
There are many people who would trade
As they live in countries where they are afraid.

So let your attitude be positive and full of cheer
Don’t let challenges get you down my dear.
Keep moving forward believing that
You will achieve the things you are working at.

And when success comes your way
Be sure to be thankful every day.
Share your wealth with those who have less
And you will find that you will be blessed.

Today I
Poet: Julie Hebert, © 2012

Today I have decided,
That it’s time to take control.
There won’t be anymore sitting,
And waiting, this is my goal.

Life shows us so clearly,
I am all that I have.
If I want to get something done,
It’s up to me to pave my own path.

Today I will set my goal,
And work to see it through.
I’m tired of being afraid,
It’s time for my dreams to come true.

Today I am quite happy,
And confidence has made its way too.
I as a person have grown,
From now on, to me I’ll stay true.

Keep a smile on your lips; it is better
To joyfully, hopefully try
A Smile And A Task
Poet: Nixon Waterman

Keep a smile on your lips; it is better
To joyfully, hopefully try
For the end you would gain, than to fetter
Your life with a moan and a sigh.
There are clouds in the firmament ever
The beauty of heaven to mar,
Yet night so profound there is never
But somewhere is shining a star.

Keep a task in your hands; you must labor;
By deeds is true happiness won;
For stranger and friend and for neighbor,
Rejoice there is much to be done.
Endeavor by crowning life’s duty
With joy-giving song and with smile,
To make the world fuller of beauty
Because you are in it a while.

Be The Best That You Can Be
Poet: Julie Hebert, © 2012

At one time or another,
We’ve all heard these inspirational words.
In life, be the best that you can be,
And you’ll fly just like the birds.

Fly as high as you can see,
And you’ll accomplish all.
Be the best that you can be,
And you’ll be twice as tall.

Walking high above the rest,
You’re confidence will grow.
Be the best that you can be,
Only you can make it so.

Don’t forget about those below,
As they are people too.
Treat everyone, as you’d like to be treated,
And people will always love you.

Be the best that you can be,
Be everything and more.
If you always try your hardest,
There will always be an open door.

If I Can
Poet: Emily Dickinson

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

Do more than exist - live,
Do more that touch - feel.
Do More
Poet: John H. Rhodes

Do more than exist – live,
Do more that touch – feel.
Do more that look – observe.
Do more that read – absorb,
Do more than hear – listen.
Do more than think – ponder.
Do more than plan – act.
Do more than talk – say something.

What I Live For
Poet: Unknown

What dost thou live for, brother mine?
I live to give.
To give myself, my life, my all,
And keeps me ev’ry day
Upon His holy way –
For this I live.

What dost thou live for, brother mine?
I live to give.
I have a hope beyond the grave;
I have a deathless soul to save.
And many souls beside,
Drift on life’s surging tide –
For this I shall live.

What dost thou live for, brother mine?
I live to give.
Not to the earth a deathless name
Bright written on the scroll of fame,
But life of peace and love
To guide men’s souls above –
For this I live.

What dost thou live for, brother mine?
I live to give.
To give a word of hope and cheer,
To dry, a perchance, some falling tear,
To forward on life’s road
Some pilgrim with his load –
For this I live.
