If you compared your troubles, or challenges, with those of others, you would surely find that there are those whose troubles make yours look like minor inconveniences.
Catherine Pulsifer, from Cheer
If I were asked to give what I consider the single most useful bit of advice for all humanity it would be this:
Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life and when it comes, hold you head high, look it squarely in eye and say, "I will be bigger than you. You cannot defeat me."
Trouble is, in our own lives, we do a similar thing far too often and then wonder why things turn out wrong.
Better to lose count while naming your blessings than to lose your blessings to counting your troubles.
Maltbie D. Babcock
I would not leave you in your times of trouble. We never could have come this far. I took the good times, I'll take the bad times, I'll take you just the way you are.
Trouble is part of your life - if you don't share it, you don't give the person who loves you a chance to love you enough.
Most of us wait until we're in trouble, and then we pray like the dickens. Wonder what would happen if, some morning, we'd wake up and say,
"Anything I can do for You today, Lord?"
Even hope may seem but futile, when with troubles you're beset,
But remember you are facing just what other men have met.
Edgar A Guest, from See It Through
Wise are they who have learned these truths:
Trouble is temporary. Time is tonic. Tribulation is a test tube.
William Arthur Ward
"I have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened."
