. . . . . the wedding was to take place in a resort on a Caribbean island and it was too late for most of those attending to cancel their reservations. This also meant that his former fiancée was also there with part of her family and claimed their former room for herself.

The Good News
But, the good news was that in attendance were also his brother and his wife and one of his best friends. His friend allowed him to stay in his room or my friend would not have had any place to sleep.

His friend was there for him through the week tagging along and doing things with him. As well, his brother spent late hours with him into the evening in a resort that seemed to die of any adult activity at around ten o’clock.

Always There For You
Good friends sure make their presence known at times of strife and challenging times and are revealed for their true support when all others seem to vanish. It is one thing to say you are a true friend and quite another to actually step up to the plate when times get tough.

To each of us some rain must fall because life is not always cast in a play that has the script you expect or want. Some challenges are more trying than others and it is even more difficult to find your way through these challenges if you have to tackle them alone.

Life Is Easier
Life is so much easier if you can talk with a trusted friend who is there for support and not as a judge. A real friend knows when to talk, when to stay quiet and listen, and when to inject some positive opinions and possible other strategies or behaviors.

In the situation I was describing earlier, both my friend and his friend and his brother all made his week a little more bearable and were able to move along with him to look at his situation in a much more positive way.

Thank goodness they were there – we could all use really good friends.
