Reframe
The subtitle: “From the God We’ve Made to God With Us” says it all! Brian Harden’s book, Reframe, is certainly one that I will re-read. Brian has the ability to ask questions that envoke us to think. He also uses common sense in getting his point across.

Christmas Notes
Have you ever sat down to read a book and found you could not put it down until you finished it? Well, this is one of those books. I started reading the book and found I had to keep reading it until I finished it. A wonderful book that is full of inspiration with a story about a little girl who touched the hearts of many.

Wisdom to Wellness , Healing Your Emotional Sufferings so Physical Healing Can Follow
Over the years, I have read hundreds of self-help books. Each one of these books certainly had sound advice and many had practical exercises to follow in order to help change or alter one’s life. I also have been a counselor in an employee assistance program and have witnessed first hand the issues and challenges of clients. But, I wish I had had the opportunity then to have in my possession Maureen Jones’ book, ‘Wisdom to Wellness’ because it represents a work that transcends most healing practices today, and one of the resources that I would have used on a constant basis.

Waiting for Jack Confessions of a Self-Help Junkie: How to Stop Waiting & Start Living Your Life
What a great book. Actually, one of the best books I have read in a long time! As I read this book, I could see reflections of myself and I could see others that I knew that could benefit from this book. The author, Kristen Moeller, has written this book in a way that we can all relate to it. It is a book about how we sometimes wait for things to happen rather than make it happen. The stories in the book are ones that reflect every day life and you may find yourself relating to one or more of these stories.

How To Achieve A Heaven on Earth
Is there truly such a thing as heaven on earth? Is it something that is achievable? These two questions came to mind as I started reading this book. This book contains essays on many topics: peace, security, freedom, democracies, prosperity, spiritual harmony, racial harmony, ecological harmony, health, moral purpose and meaning, and individual paths to heaven and earth. And as you read these essays, written by people from all walks of life, you will start seeing how heaven can be achieved on earth.

face it What Women Really Feel as Their Looks Change As a woman reaching the magical time of middle age, the subtitle of this book intrigued me. We all age and, while we can all try and slow the process, it still happens. Our society today puts a lot of pressure on women to be young, beautiful and slim. Most books that you read on this subject discuss how you can slow the process, but this book, “Face It”, actually teaches you how to accept it and be happy. It is a guide to help you understand, feel better, and take advantage of your changing looks. This quote from the book summarizes what the book does, “The knowledge you gain as you read Face It will give you a step-by-step plan that maps out how to manage your feelings about your changing appearance.”

The 7 Great Prayers For a Lifetime of Hope and Blessings
Imagine losing your job, having 3 children to raise, the bill collectors at your door, and finally losing your home. How Do You Cope? The book, The 7 Great Prayers , was written as a result of coping with just that situation. Paul & Tracey McManus experienced the disappointment, the fear, and the worry of dealing with a financial crisis when Paul lost his job. How did they cope? As the authors wrote, “It was better to focus on the good and what we had than to focus on what we had lost and were losing.” By doing this, the book was written.

MADE to STICK Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die
You have great ideas but how do you get people to understand them, to buy into your ideas? Finally, a book that explains in laymen’s terms how to get your ideas to stick – as the authors wrote – “by ‘stick,’ we mean that your ideas are understood and remembered, and have a lasting impact – they change your audience’s opinions ro behavior.” The authors dismiss some old theories of how to present your ideas. For example, many of us have heard you need to repeat your idea many times in different ways to get people to remember your point. The authors point out if you have to repeat your ideas obviously the idea has not been understood and will not have a lasting impression. You will find the six principles of a successful idea – the SUCCESs checklist supported by examples, stories, suggestions, and solid proven strategies that will teach you what others have done and have been successful when trying to get their ideas across.
