Og Mandino Quotes

1923 – 1966
Og Mandino
Og Mandino was a U. S. pilot during World War II, and after the war he worked as a magazine editor. While I have read many motivational authors, Og Mandino is the one who touched me the most. A lot of his work is written in story form and leaves you with messages and thoughts to think about. He touched my life and gave me inspiration when I was going through a very difficult time. His books are ones that I keep and reread. No matter how many times I reread one of his books, I always put it down with new thoughts to reflect on my own life.

Thousands of people from all walks of life have openly credited Og Mandino with turning their lives around. His books have sold more than 25 million copies in 18 languages. In 1968 he published The Greatest Salesman in the World, a parable with common sense advice on how to succeed in life. The book was a success and Mandino became one of the most popular motivational speakers in the U. S. He went on to write other self-help books, including The Greatest Secret in the World,   A Better Way to Live, and    The Return of the Ragpicker.    He left a great legacy in the form of his books for many generations to follow to enjoy!

“Welcome every morning with a smile.
Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator,
Another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday.
Be a self starter.
Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day.
Today will never happen again.
Don’t waste it with a false start of no start at all.
You were not born to fail.”

“Never allow anyone to rain on your parade and thus cast a pall of gloom and defeat on the entire day. Remember that no talent, no self-denial, no brains, no character, are required to set up in the fault-finding business. Nothing external can have any power over you unless you permit it. Your time is too precious to be sacrificed in wasted days combating the menial forces of hate, jealously, and envy. Guard your fragile life carefully.
