Success Are You Determined

Success Are You Determined

Can you imagine a world without Disneyland? If Walt Disney had listened to those around him, we would never have Disneyland today. A lot of people thought Walt Disney’s dream was ludicrous. Imagine a theme park covering many acres of land. Think back to the 1950’s and imagine someone talking about a theme park. People could not visualize the dream Walt had. It seemed like a bad business idea where money would certainly be lost.

“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” Walt Disney

Who would ever invest that much money for a park, and even if you found investors, how many people would actually come and visit such a theme park? And, especially a theme park where the main character was a mouse. Many people laughed at his ideas while others told him it was impossible. There was no such park like this, no model to follow, and no other business like it to show that this could in fact be a profitable business venture.

What Made Walt Disney Different?
Walt Disney had a dream, a strong determination, and a strong belief. He had goals and a vision. He could imagine what others could not see. He made it happen. If he had listened to all those who told him his dream was impossible, we would not have the Disney resorts we have today.

“Get a good idea and stay with it. Dog it, work at it until it’s done and done right.” Walt Disney

I am sure he had doubts, and was tempted to believe what others told him but his own vision was much stronger. He invested a good majority of his money in making this dream of Disneyland a reality. And, of course he invested his time and energy. If it didn’t work at what he believed in he would have lost everything. But because his desire was so strong to make this dream a reality he kept going and pushing.

Give Up Or Get Going
A lot of people would have given up, but not Walt. And because of that, we have his theme parks that allow children and adults to enjoy them and have fun. Millions of people have experienced a vacation that only Walt once dreamed could be a reality.

There are countless situations where individuals were told it was impossible yet they went on to achieve success. They didn’t let others discourage them. In many cases, they persevered against great odds. In Disney’s case his persistence and perseverance paid off, he wouldn’t let it go and he kept moving forward with the plan he had in his mind.

What You Think Determines What You Do
I believe it all comes down to your outlook:

– if you think it is impossible, then it is;
– if you think it can be achieved, then what you see is not the impossible, but the end result.

Many people have defeated themselves before they even get started by thinking that their goal is impossible. And just as many people have had great successes because they believed that their goal was achievable.

If you believe in yourself then you will find a way no matter what obstacles and challenges you face along the way. You will see these obstacles as opportunities. If you look at an obstacle as an opportunity you will find ways, you will use your creativity and find a solution that will resolve the obstacle. Sometimes, obstacles are actually gifts as they make us look at situations in a different way.

And, if you are determined, then you have a greater chance of success. Your own attitude can determine your success or your failure. If you have determination then there is no stopping you. Determination gives us the ability to overcome challenges. It also gives us the belief that we can do it no matter what anyone else thinks or believes.

Always keep Walt Disney in mind, use his success as encouragement to achieve your dreams. Stick with it; make your dreams come true with hard work and belief that it is possible.

“Of all the things I’ve done, the most vital is coordinating those who work with me and aiming their efforts at a certain goal.” Walt Disney

Do You Have A Dream?
You don’t have to have the greatest theme park in mind; you don’t have to have the hottest new invention in mind; you don’t have to have tons of money; but, what you do have to have is an absolute burning desire to make your dream a reality. So, what is holding you back? What is stopping you from starting even before you even make one simple, single step?

Is it fear that you will not succeed? Is it that you are afraid that your loved one’s will think you have totally lost it? Is it that you are more afraid of failure than you are of success?

I’m not suggesting in the least that some kinds of dreams may seem unusual or crazy to other people. I’m not saying that your dream will not be difficult to implement. I’m not suggesting that you might not fail. But, I am saying that if you never go for it, you’ll never achieve it. I have spoken to hundreds of dreamers and, unfortunately, that’s all they ever were. They had dreams but never initiated or started to put that dream into action. Furthermore, these dreamers I am referring to never even started by writing a plan of action; a plan that laid down steps that needed to be taken in order to start and complete whatever it was they wanted to accomplish.

I know you’ve heard it before but it is certainly worth repeating. You can’t achieve what you can’t envision and you can’t achieve the vision without a plan. And, bear this comment in mind also. You probably can’t do whatever it is alone. And, here’s what I mean when I say that.

Talk, discussion, advice and encouragement are the secrets to success. Sometimes, we can’t see the forest for the trees meaning that often we get so wrapped up in the challenge, or obstacle of problem that we can’t see clearly; in essence, we are far too close to the issue.

When you are mired in the mud so deeply that you can’t see how to get out, this is a perfect time to seek help; to seek advice; to talk and discuss your problem, issue, or obstacle with someone else who has been through something the same or something like it. And, don’t say to yourself that nobody wants to help you either; this just isn’t true. One thing I’ve found out throughout life is that people are more than willing to help but you need to ask them first.
