A Funny Valentine’s Day Poem
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer, © 2017
My valentine won’t you be mine,
I will cook a meal and let you dine
May we always be,
Happy even if living in a tree.
Someone like you makes me so happy
I must say I no longer feel crappy.
Oh that smile of yours is so bright
It sometimes blinds me like a shining light.
My wish is this, together we will be
I hope that you will agree.
Did you know I would fly to the moon
In a very, very large balloon
My hope is to be with you forever
If you want me, however.
My dreams came true
I lost all the blues
The day you entered in
My life it did begin.
You are in my heart
Even when you fart.
So you my bunny
I hope you don’t think this as funny
You are the one
You are my sun.
All kiddin aside, I think you’re sweet
Should I write, should I tweet
But no, I just want to say
Would you be mine this Valentine’s Day.
The Years Go
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer, , © 2017
The years go by and time does fly
But that is no reason for us to sigh
You see, my dear, blessed we are
The love we have is special by far.
I wouldn’t trade my life with you
I am always happy, never blue
You make me laugh, you are such a clown
Living with you how could I ever be down.
They say the best is yet to come
But what we have no one can take from
Our love is sealed and soul mates we are
You will always be my shining star.
Funny Verses Just For You
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer, © 2017
If I could write a verse or two
Then this is just what I will do.
The first verse will go like this
When you’re away it is you I miss.
But when you return my life is full
Your warmth reminds me of soft wool.
You my sweetheart, oh my love
I would fly with you on the wings of a dove.
The second verse would say to you
I love you baby, you are my honeyboo
Of all the things this world has to offer
No amount of money could fill the coffers
I wouldn’t trade you for anything
You see to my life you add that bling.
Okay I am now going on
So verse three will be like a song.
There is nothing I wouldn’t do for you
I will make you happy and not blue
I will love you forever and a day
You are my sweetheart let me say!
Short Valentine’s Day Poems
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer, © 2016
On this Valentine’s Day let me be clear
I will love you forever you have no fear.
Your thoughtfulness, your kindness,
Your character and sweetness
Make me feel special each day of the year.
When I am with you I am the best I can be
Your love and support is wonderful you see.
Each day you give me love
You are my true love.
So on thisValentines day I declare
For you my sweetheart I will always care.
Cupid brought us together and now it is forever.
You are my soul mate, no longer just my date.
My valentine wishes are more than just kisses
I wish you happiness and contentment too
In everything that you do and may you always be in love with me.
We have such a happy life
We are blessed to be man and wife.
We do not have riches galore
But we have each other that we adore.
The love of my life you are
You are like a shining star
The center of my universe
I can say these words without rehearse
I love you today
and tomorrow too, I say
Thank you for your love always
You make my life worthwhile in many ways.
All my life I looked for someone like you
My love for you continues to brew.
You make my life so complete
We have a love that cannot be beat.
This valentine poem is a reminder
how much your friendship is treasured.
Our friendship grows and can’t be measured.
Thank you my friend.
In my heart there is a flame
That only you my love can claim.
You are in my heart
Nothing can keep us apart.
No gift could ever be
As special as you and me.
This Valentine wish for you
Is one that is so true.
The love we share
And the ways you care
Are the best gifts you could give
My life with you I want to live!
I never dreamed of this relationship
I could write a book and claim authorship.
Love is grand, love is great
To be with you this Valentines Day I can’t wait.
Our future is bright
Our love is like a light
My life is dedicated
To always appreciate
The love that we share
For you I will always care.
My dreams have come true
My life is complete with you.
Cupid has hit me
And I am as happy as can be.
William Shakespeare’s Words on Love
So long as I can breathe or I can see so long lives your love which gives life to me.
When you depart from me sorrow abides, and happiness takes his leave.
Love looks not with eyes, but with the mind.
Love is the most beautiful of dreams and the worst of nightmares.
Love is a spirit of all compact of fire.
My heart is ever at your service.
Love looks not with the eyes,
but with the mind;
And therefore is winged
Cupid painted blind.
William Shakespeare
Doubt thou the stars are fire,
Doubt that the sun doth move.
Doubt truth to be a liar,
But never doubt I love.
William Shakespeare
My bounty is as deep as the sea,
My love as deep; the more I give to thee,
The more I have, for both are infinite.
William Shakespeare
Love Is Enough
Poet: William Morris
Love is enough: though the World be a-waning,
And the woods have no voice but the voice of complaining,
Though the sky be too dark for dim eyes to discover
The gold-cups and daisies fair blooming thereunder,
Though the hills be held shadows, and the sea a dark wonder
And this day draw a veil over all deeds pass’d over,
Yet their hands shall not tremble, their feet shall not falter;
The void shall not weary, the fear shall not alter
These lips and these eyes of the loved and the lover.
Love Me Little, Love Me Long
Poet: Unknown
Love me little, love me long,
Is the burden of my song.
Love that is too hot and strong
Burneth soon to waste:
Still, I would not have thee cold,
Not too backward, nor too bold;
Love that lasteth till ’tis old
Fadeth not in haste.
Love me little, love me long,
Is the burden of my song.
If thou lovest me too much
It will not prove as true as touch;
Love me little, more than such,
For I fear the end:
I am with little well content,
And a little from thee sent
Is enough, with true intent
To be steadfast friend.
Love me little, love me long,
Is the burden of my song.
Say thou lov’st me while thou live;
I to thee my love will give,
never dreaming to deceive
Whiles that life endures:
Nay, and after death, in sooth,
I too thee will keep my truth,
As now, when in my May of youth:
This my love assures.
Love me little, love me long,
Is the burden on my song.
Constant love is moderate ever,
And it will through life persver:
Give me that, with true endeavour.
I will it restore.
A suit of durance let it be
For all weathers that for me,
For the land or for the sea,
Lasting evermore.
Love me little, love me long,
Is the burden of my song.
Winter’s cold, or summer’s heat,
Autumn’s tempests, on it beat,
It can never know defeat,
Never can rebel:
Such the love that I would gain,
Such the love, I tell thee plain,
Thou must give, or woo in vain:
So to thee, farewell
Love me little, love me long,
Is the burden of my song.
Love Me Not for Comely Grace
Poet: John Wilbye
Love me not for comely grace
For my pleasing eye or face,
Nor for any outward part,
No, nor for my constant heart.
For those my fail or turn to ill,
So thou and I shall sever.
Keep therefore a true woman’s eye,
And love me still, but know not why;
So hast thou the same reason still
To doat upon me ever.
In That Book
Poet: Dante Alighieri
In that book which is
My memory . . .
On the first page
That is the chapter when
I first met you
Appear the words . . .
Here begins a new life.
For You
Poet: Kate Summers
This valentine poem is just for you
To remind you that I love you for all that you do
I love you for who you are
To me you are a shining star.
So on this Valentines day
If I had only one thing to say
It would be that you’re the best
And that I feel very blessed.
Send Her a Valentine
Poet: Edgar A Guest
Send her a valentine to say
You love her in the same old way.
Just drop the long familiar ways
And live again the old-time days
When love was new and youth was bright
And all was laughter and delight,
And treat her as you would if she
Were still the girl that used to be.
Pretend that all the years have passed
Without one cold and wintry blast;
That you are coming still to woo
Your sweetheart as you used to do;
Forget that you have walked along
The paths of life where right and wrong
And joy and grief in battle are,
And play the heart without a scar.
Be what you were when youth was fine
And send to her a valentine;
Forget the burdens and the woe
That have been given you to know
And to the wife, so fond and true,
The pledges of the past renew
‘Twill cure her life of every ill
To find that you’re her sweetheart still.
