What a great book. Actually, one of the best books I have read in a long time! As I read this book, I could see reflections of myself and I could see others that I knew that could benefit from this book. The author, Kristen Moeller, has written this book in a way that we can all relate to it. It is a book about how we sometimes wait for things to happen rather than make it happen. The stories in the book are ones that reflect every day life and you may find yourself relating to one or more of these stories.
The author shares her life experiences with us and questions us at the end of each chapter. She includes famous quotes that support her writings and ones that are great for reflection.
Here are a few inspirational quotes from the book, which will give you a sense of the book:
“All we have is now.”
“I was putting my life on hold instead of getting our there in the world and creating what I said I want to create.”
“Only we can take the action that will create the transformation we seek.”
“Tragically, many of us live our entire lives without fulfilling our dreams.”
“Responsibility is a grace we give ourselves. It is not something imposed from outside of us. We have a say in how our life goes.”
“A day was simply how it was, and everything else was my interpretation.”
“Problems occur when we measure who we are by what we have or have not done.”
“When we judge people, we disconnect from them.”
“Animals can inspire us to be less busy, more present, less worried, more joyful, and more passionate about life. They will never judge us for the things we do or don’t do.”
“When we compare ourselves to others, it’s easy to come up short, because few things are equal.”
“We seek progress through practice. Practice means to improve by repeating. It doesn’t mean we will get it right.”
“If we only dwell in our comfort, the world will probably pass us by, and nothing will change. We may never become who we truly want and are intended to be.”
The author has a way of helping us see areas of our life where we are sitting waiting rather than taking action. She shares with us her six principles that help us to take action. To quote principle #1, “simple actions can lead to extraordinary results.” If you are not where you want to be in life, then take the simple action of buying this book; you may find it leading you to extraordinary results! The book, Waiting for Jack is available from Amazon.
