To The Love Of A Friend
Poet: Jim Thistle
Inspired by, my Lovely Friend & Life Coach,
Miss Judie Mitchell
You are forever in my heart

A short time ago, feeling hopeless and low,
In much pain, that my mind was resisting,
There was hurt, there was woe, and this much I know,
Wasn’t living, just barely existing.

On a dark desperate night, came a glimmer of light,
I was injured, and at my wits end,
When God intervened, it was calm and serene,
He returned me, to my special friend.

If you look at her features, the smaller of creatures,
But, don’t get me wrong from the start,
What’s lacking in size, is a small compromise,
Made up, by the size of her heart.

As she goes through her day, I’m amazed at the way,
She upholds, such a positive attitude,
Instilling in me, and through her I can see,
That it’s, willingness, faith, and its gratitude.

Though not my affair, and it’s just that I care,
I am sure, she has woes of her own,
But, there’s one thing I find, she will always make time,
Cause, she knows I can’t do this alone.

It makes me feel glad, when I start getting sad,
And maybe, I’m lost and adrift,
The Lord smiles down, when I’m wearing a frown,
And, reminds me of my precious gift.

In the midst of a storm, I will always be warm,
When I’m troubled, and fearing an end,
What a comfort to know, there’s a place I can go,
I can go, To The Love Of A Friend

Worry Never
Poet: Eleanor H Porter

Worry never climbed a hill.
Worry never paid a bill.
Worry never dried a tear.
Worry never calmed a fear.
Worry never darned a heel.
Worry never cooked a meal.
Worry never led a horse to water.
Worry never done a thing you’d think it oughta.

It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit! Edgar A. Guest

Don’t Quit
Poet: Edgar A. Guest

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road your trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and its turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When they might have won, had they stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victors cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when your hardest hit,
It’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit!

Take Time
Poet: Unknown

Take time to work, it is the price of success.
Take time to think, it is the source of power.
Take time to play, it is the secret of perpetual youth.
Take time to read, it is the fountain of wisdom.
Take time to be friendly, it is the road to happiness.
Take time to dream, it is hitching your wagon to a star.
Take time to look around, it is too short a day to be selfish.
Take time to laugh, it is the music of the soul.

Today be determined to be the best you can be. Catherine Pulsifer

Today Be Determined
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer ©2017

Today be determined to be the best you can be
Today be determined to help others that you see
Today be determined to persevere in all you do
Today be determined to only speak what’s true
Today be determined not to let things get you blue
Today be determined to learn one thing new
Today be determined to have a positive view
and, today be determined to encourage others too!

It Don’t Take Long
Poet: Eldred Herbert

It don’t take long to listen to another fellow’s grief,
It don’t take long to sympathize and help him find relief;
You will make his life much happier to give him this boost,
And your soul will be contented when you come home to roost.
It don’t take long to smile and say a pleasant “How are you”?
It means so much when someone feels down-hearted, sad and blue;
‘Twill make the day turn sunny on a very rainy day,
And you will feel much happier, as you go on your way.

It don’t take long to sit a while when someone’s sick in bed,
A cheery word will often soothe a tired, aching head;
And they will think you quite a guy, and find the day is bright,
So sit a while, and chat a while, your heart will glow with light.

Laugh A Little
Poet: Unknown

Laugh a little – sing a little,
As you go your way!
Work a little – play a little
Do this every day!

Give a little – take a little,
Never mind a frown –
Make your smile a welcome thing
All around the town!

Laugh a little – love a little,
Skies are always blue!
Every cloud has silver linings,
But it’s up to you!

Encouragement Is
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer ©2017

Encouragement is . . .

the person who takes the time to listen
the person who supports you while others turn their back
the person who lends that helping hand
the person who has faith in you to be all you can
the person who shares what they have
the person who has confidence in you and your plans
the person who gives you hope to see the project through
the person who listens and does not judge

Encouragement you see is not a noun
but a person taking action showing kindness and compassion.

Be that person who encourages rather than criticizes. Catherine Pulsifer

Be That Person
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer ©2017

Be that person who encourages rather than criticizes
Be that person who helps rather than turns away
Be that person who celebrates others success rather than being jealous
Be that person who has a positive attitude rather than being negative
Be that person who takes action rather than complaining
Be that person who admits mistakes rather than blaming others
Be that person who is enthusiastic rather than being apathetic
Be that person who finds solutions rather than focusing on problems
Be that person who forgives rather than being bitter
Be that person who will take a risk rather than wondering “what if”
You see your life will be measure by that person you have been!
