Inspirational People – Words of Wisdom

Inspirational People

Author:

We all have inspirational people in our lives; people who have encouraged and inspired us to believe in ourselves.

Many of these people have inspired me by their books and recordings. It is my view that their words of wisdom are ones that can apply to all of our lives. They share their knowledge, experience, and wisdom to make a difference in the lives of many. They have inspired and have been a role model for many. Even though we may not know it or believe it, every one of us also has an opportunity to inspire others.

Ordinary People With Extraordinary Gifts
You may through the course of a lifetime find inspirational people in your life who are not famous, are not authors, nor are they motivational speakers. These can be what might be termed ordinary people with an extraordinary gift to inspire and provide encouragement to those around them. These special people may be someone you meet at work and that person could be a co-worker, or a supervisor who excels at leading people through example, through skilled coaching sessions, and one who always sees the solution instead of the problem.

It could also be a person that you meet at church, or in a bowling league, or a schoolteacher or a minister, or the neighbor next door. It doesn’t matter who the person is or isn’t in terms of a position of importance; the real matter is that they are inspiring and uplifting.

Quotes From Some of The People Who Have Inspired Me
“You teach best what you most need to learn.” Richard Bach

This is a fascinating and revealing quote. It speaks to me about the need to learn but in a little different way. Here is a simple example that explains what I mean. Let’s say that you are asked to prepare a few remarks about some aspect of local history. And, let’s say that this aspect is how the first settlers helped each other in order that each person of each family could successfully survive the harsh winter climate (assuming you live in such an area of course). But, you really have no idea how families or individuals helped others to cope with the winters of yester year.

So, your research begins. You scour the Internet but can only find out a few things. Then, you decide to visit the local museum to see if they can provide any material or guidance. After finding out a few more things, you visit your local library and search old books, articles or newspaper articles. Then, you start to prepare your notes that you will use to teach about this aspect of local culture.

As you read over all of the material you have gathered, you also start to learn about the vital role played by both individuals and families in helping each other through difficult or challenging times. The more you read, the more you realize how important it is to help other people through hardship, rough times, challenging days or problems they currently experience.

And maybe, just maybe, what you are about to teach about people helping people is exactly what you may have needed to relearn yourself. Maybe it is a wakeup call that helping people through their challenges or problems is not something that only occurred in the past to assist in personal survival but helping others is an act that sees no boundaries of time or location. Maybe, it reaches you at your deepest core and encourages you to reach out and either start to help others, to continue helping others or to encourage others to lend a helping hand.

So, how does this apply to Bach’s quote? I think you already know the answer.

“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.” Oprah Winfrey

This is another quote that merits a few words of comment. So often, we get so hung up on what we want that we fail to see what we already have. This quote reminds me to give thanks for the many blessings that I already have. It reminds me that all too often we dismiss what we already have in thinking that we need more. Celebrate that you live in North America where we have opportunities, where we have freedom, where we have safety and security to name only a few.

“The most successful people on the planet have failed more than ordinary ones.” Robin Sharma, The Greatness Guide

One of the greatest myths is that those who are successful are the ones who have been the luckiest. The real truth is that this thinking is a fallacy. The real story is that, for the most part, those have attained success in whatever field it is in have failed before they became successful. In fact, many of the most successful people have failed many times before they finally achieved success. And, it should also be known that some of these successful people who became successful also lost it all and then motivated themselves to achieve success again.

“Flaming enthusiasm backed by horse sense and persistence, is the quality that most frequently makes for success.” Dale Carnegie

“I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter.” Walt Disney

The One Thing They All Have In Common
I am sure you will recognize some of these people as they have been a role model and have inspired millions of people. The one thing they all have in common is their attitude towards life. They tend to look at the positive side of things. They demonstrate a willingness to help others. Attitude makes such a difference in a person’s life.

The other common factor is their willingness to encourage others. These people are always willing to help improve others’ lives. They provide support and give people confidence in what they are doing.

Think of the people who have touched your life, look at their outlook on life and their philosophies. It is always better to model the behaviour of people who are successful. It is also helpful to study them, you will find many times that success did not just happen, many of them had failures and dissapointments but that did not stop them. They showed perseverance by getting back up and trying again. They learned from their mistakes and started again with their new found knowledge.
