Positive Inspirational Note

Positive Inspirational Note

Author:

The most positive inspirational note I ever received was from a good friend who has been a mentor, a supporter, and an inspiration to me. This friend has had some very challenging issues in their life, but they always look at the positive side of every situation. No matter what the issue they are able to find the good in it. After years of working with many set backs, they continued to persevere and they have achieved success.

Inspiring and Motivating
The message that they sent me inspired and motivated me. What they did was write a poem to me to encourage me not to give up, to continue. What was neat about this note is that they took positive quotes and put it in a letter to me. Here is the positive inspirational note:

My Hope
My hope in sharing this note with you is that it will inspire and motivate you to be all that you can be; that even when you face challenges to persevere; to encourage you to set your goals and stay focused on achieving them; and a reminder to realize that you are born to succeed. And, most importantly as you work to achieve your goals, enjoy life! And, if you know someone who is going through some challenging times or someone who has reached success find inspirational quotes that reflect their situation, and send them a note!

Reflections on these Inspirational Quotes:
Persistence prevails when all else fails. Author Unknown
My own inspirational thought about the above quote is that persistence is the hallmark of those people who have achieved success. I’m positive that it wasn’t that they were highly intelligent with a tremendously high intelligence quotient. I’m also positive that they didn’t succeed without expending a considerable amount of both psychological and physical energy. Each task requires either a particular skill set or one that must be learned and developed before the next step is complete.

Never, never, never give up. Winston Churchill
Obviously, Churchill was speaking at a time when his nation was at war. At times, it appeared that England would fall victim to the attacks of German fighters, bombers and rockets. But, Churchill wasn’t about to let his people down by surrendering. Instead, he took the opposite tack and encouraged his nation to fight ever harder. This same vision applies to each life whether you are in school desperately struggling to pass your tests or whether you are a parent raising children in a difficult time through challenging circumstances.

How long should you try? Until. Jim Rohn
I really encourage people to really think about this quote. When you first read it you might think that it really doesn’t make much sense because there seems to be no conclusion to the statement or no clear answer. On the other hand, when you dive deeper into the possible meaning behind the thought that Rohn stated, you may just discover one of the secrets of accomplishment. That secret is that you should keep trying and keep trying until you succeed at whatever it is you have set your sights on to accomplishment.

A jug fills drop by drop. Buddha
The suggestive meaning of this quote has a lot to say too many of us who see a mountainous task before us. So many people focus on how huge the job is and defeat their potential to accomplish whatever it is before they ever get started. Have you ever approached a new job, task, assignment or request in this same way? Well, if you have you are not in the minority at all. In fact, the size of the obstacle, roadblock or task is the worst enemy of thousands upon thousands of people.

However, I learned long ago from a good friend of mine that each task is only as big as a small chunk. This basically means that no matter the size of the task you can only accomplish one aspect at a time so why be concerned about how big it is. When you refocus your mind on a bite size chunk the size of the task requires only that you keep going and used perseverance as your weapon of choice. Each bite accomplished means that there is simply another bite size chunk left to do. After each chunk there is, in your mind’s eye, only one left – the next. Without sweating about the bigness, the task is consumed all in due course.

Set your goals high, and don’t stop till you get there. Bo Jackson
Jackson’s quote carries with it some deep meaning for those who are striving towards a level of achievement. I believe it is vitally important to not only set goals but to set goals that actually stretch you intellectually, psychologically and even physically. Take for example a high jump athlete who sets a goal to jump eight feet when the athlete knows that the current highest recorded jump is ten feet. If the athlete’s goal is well within reach without extra hard training and dedication, what is the point of the training?

If the athlete knows that with minimal effort that their easy goal is attainable, this does nothing to stretch, push, develop or enhance the athlete’s ability. On the other hand, if the athlete sets a goal at ten feet one inch, they have set a mental expectation that they know they must strive to attain. And, they also know that the attainment of the revised goal will require a tremendous amount of focus, dedication and perseverance. The same applies to every goal that one sets. If you know you can accomplish your goal without much effort, why bother in the first place? Does the attainment of a minimal goal help further your learning, skill, dedication or zest to keep moving forward? I think not.

Whoever wants to reach a distant goal must take small steps. Helmut Schmidt
This quote reinforces what I said earlier. And, I believe it merits further exposure. Think of it this way. If you were assigned to land a vehicle on Mars, would you be able to do it in a few small steps? Of course not. However, devising a plan that entails the accomplishment of one small step after another certainly looks more doable, doesn’t it?

Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb. That’s where the fruit is. H. Jackson Brown
I really think this quote is one that should be reviewed and digested by all those who are known as complainers. What do I mean by that? Well, let me ask you a question and I think you’ll know the answer. How many people do you know who are complainers and how many of these types of people are the very ones who do nothing to resolve a complaint or issue? Think about it. I’m sure after only a few moments of thought, you’ve come up with a few people that you know who fit into this category.

The interesting thing here is that the loudest complainers are usually the ones who are the most afraid to risk anything; they are the ones who would rather you stick your neck out; they are the ones who ridicule any unsuccessful effort to make a positive change but are always the ones who benefit from someone else who is willing to risk a bit of hard work, a new process or to see beyond the problem and embrace a solution. Who would you rather have on your team; a risk taker and doer or a habitual complainer?
