The Dentist Opportunity
What has going to the dentist to do with opportunity? Is it the chance to repair, whiten or adjust my teeth? No, nothing like that at all.
It really has more to do with what I can do than what the dentist can do.
Here is the reason; it is an opportunity to sit and wait and read what I need to without having to answer the phone, or to be subjected to the demands that constantly bombard me if I stay and work at my home office.
You see, going to the dentist gives me an opportunity to sit quietly and read. I love to read and I also love to acquire knowledge of a wide variety on a continuous basis. Reading is one activity that seems to be set aside as I go through a busy day.
There are always numerous things that must be done on a daily basis and by the time it is time to call it a day, I can only squeeze in a few minutes for reading.
Do You Have The Passion
In fact, I feel sorry for people who have not developed the passion for reading for one reason or another.
I know, because I use it daily, that there are tremendous advantages to technology by way of computers, blackberries etc. but their use seems to be at the expense of sitting down with a great book and becoming lost within its pages.
I find that there is a comfort level between a reader and an author where one seems to meld into the thoughts and passions of another even if this passion is a fictional book. Even of more interest for me, is the literature of knowledge, of biographies, or world events, of successful people, of courage, and of helping.
Find The Time
So, if you have the opportunity to have a few minutes, or hours, take a good book, magazine or paper and use your time wisely. You probably have some opportunity to do so but may, instead, turn on the TV, or radio, or surf the web.
It is not you cannot find time, it is more that you use the time you have.
