Love is a Great Thing
Poet: Thomas A Kempis

Love is a great thing,
yea, a great and thorough good.
By itself it makes that which is heavy light;
and it bears evenly all that is uneven.
It carries a burden which is no burden;
it will not be kept back by anything low and mean;
It desires to be free from all worldly affections,
and not to be entangled by any outward prosperity,
or by any adversity subdued.
Love feels no burden, thinks nothing of trouble,
attempts what is above its strength,
pleads no excuse of impossibility.
It is therefore able to undertake all things,
and it completes many things and warrants them to take effect,
where he who does not love would faint and lie down.
Though weary, it is not tired;
though pressed it is not straightened;
though alarmed, it is not confounded;
but as a living flame it forces itself upwards
and securely passes through all.
Love is active and sincere,
courageous, patient, faithful, prudent, and manly.

I Do Love
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer

If I could write one poem for you
It would be one that keeps you from being blue.
It would not start with roses are red
I would rather be romantic instead.
It would be cute, it would be short
It would not be a report.
But rather my message would say
You make me happy every day.
I cherish you, you are my treasure
I will love you forever with such pleasure.
What start out as a good friendship
Has now turned into love and companionship.
My lover, my friend, my angel sent from above
You my darling I do love.

To The Child I Adore
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer

Roses are red
Violets are blue
This poem is for
My child whom I adore.
My love for you will ever be
Stronger than the strongest tree.
Life will have its ups and downs
But keep smiling, do not frown.
Find the good in every thing
If you do that, happiness it will bring.
Always remember no matter what
I love you with no buts!

Sing You A Song
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer

I was going to sing you a song
But my voice would get a big gong.
Then I thought I could find a ballad
But that was worst than eating a salad.
So a verse or two I will write
To let you know I love you tonight.
I will love you tomorrow
I have no regrets or sorrow.
You see my sweetheart
From you I will never depart.

Friends Forever
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer

Let me say it without ado
You are thought of with affection
With you I have a real connection.

Friends forever I hope we will be.

The Names
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer

The names I call you you do suit
Darling, Honey, my Boo Boo.
Every time we kiss and hug
My heart flutters without any drugs.
We laugh, we cry,
Life with you is like a high.
So with fondness I do write
My life with you is better than alright.

Love Poems For Her

Truelove
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer

I know this poems may just sound
Like one from Valentines that’s been around.
But the appreciation I wish to express
Is to a person I wish to impress.
Yes my dear you amaze me still
And when I am with you I am fulfilled.
We are like Romeo and Juliet
We go together like the alphabet.
You are a treasure sent from above
What we have is truelove.

Royalty
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer

Never think that I don’t notice
All the things you do for me
Living with you is like living in bliss
It makes me happy as can be.

You treat me like royalty
Even when I don’t deserve it.
When I am face with difficulty
You are the best I must admit.

I will always love you dear
Forever I will be your sweetheart
Of that you can never fear
From you I will never depart.

Marriage Is Sweet
Poet: Byron Pulsifer

I never dreamed marriage could be so sweet
Our marriage is unlike any I have seen.
Our life together is so complete.
It makes me feel like we are king and queen.

When I look into your eyes
I can see your love for me
And all you do for me implies
Our love grows stronger I hope you agree.

Love Poems For Him

My Inspiration
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer

You are my inspiration
I think of you with adoration.
In every way you show
How easy love can flow.
You are gentle, you are kind
You are an example for mankind.
Only for you this poem is penned
As on you I know I can depend.

Go Together
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer

Romance and roses go together
Like horses and leather.
And together you do find
The very best of mankind
When a woman and a man say
I love you this and every day.
When your life you can share
With someone who you know does care
Happiness and contentment do abound
As you feel the love surround.

My Life’s Delight
Poet: Thomas Campion

Come, O come, my life’s delight,
Let me not in languor pine!
Love loves no delay; thy sight,
The more enjoyed, the more divine:
O come, and take from me
The pain of being deprived of thee!

Thou all sweetness dost enclose,
Like a little world of bliss.
Beauty guards thy looks: the rose
In them pure and eternal is.
Come, then, and make thy flight
As swift to me, as heavenly light.

If Thou Must Love Me… (Sonnet 14)
Poet: Elizabeth Barrett Browning

If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love’s sake only. Do not say,
“I love her for her smile -her look – her way
Of speaking gently, -for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of pleasant ease on such a day”-
For these things in themselves, Belovèd, may
Be changed, or change for thee -and love, so wrought,
May be unwrought so. Neither love me for
Thine own dear pity’s wiping my cheeks dry:
A creature might forget to weep, who bore
Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby!
But love me for love’s sake, that evermore
Thou mayst love on, through love’s eternity.

Having You Near
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer

When life’s challenges get me down
I know you are always around.
My love for you just continues to grow
An angel you are I want you to know.
Poetry is not my strength
But for you this I attempt.
I want to tell you just how dear
And that I love having you near.
Kisses and hugs I send to you
I am so glad I said, I do.
So let this poem express my love
You will always be my beloved.

I Miss You
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer

When you are away
I count the days
Until you come back to me
I wish you never had to leave.
I must say, when we are apart
It feels like a hole in my heart.
My life is not complete without you
It makes me feel oh so blue.
I love you so much
And I love your touch
Hurry home to me
I miss you, you see!
