To Live More

What do you think about each morning as you arise? Do you think about how you will frame your day by picturing your attitudes or behaviors for that day? Probably not if you are like millions of other people.
Another Opportunity
Every day is another opportunity to make a conscious decision of how your day will unfold. It can be a day, if you allow it, which sees you reacting to events and circumstances as they enter your conscious mind, a mind that is unprepared. You have a decision and a choice to make each day before these events overtake you. You have a choice about how you will respond, or how you will positively deal with issues.
Too many people allow events or circumstances to control their life. Sadly, what is not understood is that circumstances are not emotional entities; they do not have a life of their own, nor do they actually have any power over us. The real truth is that each one of us gives events power by simply reacting to them. Some of these reactions call for a series of negative emotions and it is the release of negative emotions that continue to be compounded if we let them overtake common sense and practicality.
Each one of us can make a conscious decision, instead, that we will react and behave in a positive or beneficial way each day. For example, you can decide that you will travel through this day with cheer in your heart, in your voice, and in your behavior.
You Can Decide That Today
You will be a kinder person, a person who will smile at each person at work or that you meet throughout the day. If you spend time on the phone at work, you will smile as you talk to clients or customers and it is this smile that will convey your kindness over the phone.
You will praise those with whom you wrote for a great job, or you will praise your children when they act appropriately instead of just expecting their behavior to conform.
You will strive to be all you can be no matter what you do throughout the day whether that is being fully engaged in your work so that you tackle all tasks with enthusiasm, with vigor, and with every once of energy.
You will be brave, you will not cower to overly dominant bosses, you will stand up for your rights, you will expect and demand that you be treated with respect that is deserved as you also treat everyone with respect.
You will use every opportunity to encourage others to be more, to help those who need your assistance without begrudging them your time and energy.
It Is Up To You
You can make each day a bright and joyful day, a day filled with confidence, with praise, with respect, and with dedication. Each day has a new beginning, and it is a day to celebrate, a day to make a positive impact.
Each day is also a day that can be filled with enthusiasm for just the fact that you are alive and able to look up at the sky. Each day can be special or you can let it slip away as time lost. Each day can also be filled with laughter for a day without laughter is a day that is lost forever and devalued.
Just take a look around at those people you work with and ask yourself a quick question. Would your colleagues rather work with you if you are bright and cheerful, not prone to outbursts, or gossip or would they rather work with a person who has a sour disposition, is gloomy and unpredictable in mood? I think the answer is obvious.
You have life choices to make and I would encourage you to make this day the best you possibly can.
Inspirational Quotes for Reflection:
“The remarkable thing we have is a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.” Charles Swindoll
“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.” Theodore Roosevelt
“Everyone has to learn to think differently, bigger, to open to possibilities.” Oprah Winfrey
