Narcissist Quotes For Coping With Narcissists Who Invade Your Life

Here is our collection of powerful narcissist quotes that you may be able to relate to.

Are you, or have you been in a relationship with a narcissist? Did you have a narcissistic parent? Do you know someone who suffers from a narcissistic personality disorder? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are not alone and you most certainly are not crazy. Narcissism is on the rise perhaps as a result of social media, where image matures at the center of our daily lives. In this highly competitive society, perhaps some people believe that being selfish will benefit their lives in comparison to having empathy. As the old saying goes ‘ it’s a dog-eat-dog world out there.’

So what is narcissism? Let me break it down for you. There are many different forms of narcissism, but the two broad categories are ‘grandiose’ and ‘vulnerable’ narcissism. Someone with grandiose narcissism is usually very extroverted, attention-seeking and dominant. Their self-image is more important than other people and believes that they deserve special treatment. A person who has vulnerable narcissism worries more, over how other people perceive them and is more likely to hurt themselves as opposed to others. They are highly neurotic and any sort of failure could easily ‘tip them over the edge’. This makes being in a relationship with a vulnerable ‘narc’ very difficult as you feel like you are constantly walking on eggshells.

Living with somebody who has a narcissistic personality disorder is like being on the longest rollercoaster of your life. The narc has mastered the art of manipulation and has a way of slowly destroying you from the inside out, twisting your words and making you feel like the ‘crazy’ one. If you are currently in a relationship with a narcissist or have survived to tell the tale, always remember there are people out there who can help you. Don’t suffer in silence as I assure you, you are not alone. Talking and sharing experiences will help you to understand the disorder and help you to see the bigger picture. I can honestly say I feel for anybody that has suffered at the hand of a narcissist, and I won’t lie, it takes time to heal.

Narcissism is like a disease where the sufferer feels good and the people around them, suffer. Don’t let yourself be a victim or a pawn in their toxic game and find the strength and courage to walk away.
