Not About Time Again

I am sure you have probably read a lot of thoughts about the effective and efficient use of time especially if you work for a corporation that conducts in-house seminars. Time management is a topic that is usually at the forefront of any operation that has to meet strict time lines like those companies that must produce a set amount of product by the end of each shift.
You Are The CEO
While whether you know it or not, you are your own corporation – that is a corporation of one. You are the CEO in charge of your life, what you do, how you do it, when you do it, and even if you’ll do it. You must be accountable constantly to those demands that are made on your time and it is only you that can allocate what time can be used for what purpose. No one owns your company except you, and you alone. You have no Board of Directors telling you your overall plan for your company, what it must produce, or how it should act.
How Do You Distribute Your Time
And, within your corporation, your time is totally up to you to distribute how you see fit acknowledging that you only have a very limited resource to get done that which must be done according to the most effective. And, if you should cease to control the time resource and proportion it wisely, you know that you can never buy it back – it’s gone and so with it whatever that wasted time was supposed to accomplish.
Your Own Opportunity
How does it feel to own a corporation? You should be proud that you own something so valuable. This is your opportunity to use your corporation wisely, prudently and to make with it what is needed, desirable all the time knowing that what you do with each valued minute reflects on your ownership, your control. You know that excuses for wasting your precious time resource will never get it done nor will trying to pretend that you are far too busy with other tasks that demand your attention but that do not contribute to the overall success of your company. So it is that you also understand that time wasters and excuses are only those coming from the less strong, the less informed, and that each of these time wasters would gladly see you squander your complete ownership of your corporation.
Now, if you happen to have a few friends that do not work, or who relish using your time to their own advantage, you must be aware of what you are giving. When you give time to someone else’s use, it is you who lose precious time unless of course if you choose to offer this time because you are helping them through a difficult period in their life, or you choose to give up time as part of your decision of what constitutes relaxation. Even the busiest people in the world all need to have what some may call down time; that is, time that is spent on activities that are both enjoyable and needed so one can recharge their batteries.
Don’t Just Fill Your Days
One thing that should be noted here is that those who simply use your time to fill in their day because they have nothing better to do with their life are those people who contribute little to your own well being. Their perception is that your time is their time to use up when they need to. The other point is never to be totally upset by other people’s demands to try and use up available time that you need for other important things. The real strategy is to tell anyone who requests your time for non-important reasons that you need to do other things right now and just leave the door open for later conversations when you want to give them some of your time.
