To Be Young

Does part of happiness mean that you must be young? There are millions of dollars a year spent on beauty products that claim to make you look younger. These beauty industries play on the fascination and preoccupation of both women and men to keep their youthful looks. In our modern society, there seems to be little room for growing older and looking like it.
The Road To Happiness
But, is appearing youthful the road to happiness?
To be happy is to be accepting of who you are and what you stand for. It also means that you value life and all it gives you where you count your blessings not in terms of how you look but more how you act and think.
I know several people, on the other hand, that are young in years but are old in their actions, thinking and looks. They seem to be old before their time. When you want to engage in some activities that require them to use their muscles or to exert themselves a little bit, they reply that they are too old for those kind of things preferring to sit around and talk, or lounge around by a pool, or to read a book.
What Do You Believe
I always thought that to be young was to think young and to move in the same fashion. I do not just try and be young, I am young – at least that’s how I view myself. Maybe, this is a key – you have to believe you are young before you can act young.
To me, I also believe that happiness stems from within not from external stimuli. When both a youthful perception of oneself and knowledge that happiness comes from within, one appears more youthful and invigorated.
Children Keep Us Young
One activity that also makes one appreciate life is those little children that demand you crawl around the floor with them, or crawl into their playhouse with them. Such is my routine when I visit my little granddaughter. I crawl around, worm into the playhouse that is meant for small children, and drink pretend tea from little plastic cups and eat plastic cupcakes and sandwiches. Now, if you think that this is happiness, you are right. I love it and wouldn’t replace anything or change it in any way.
Look At Your Life
I believe everyone should take a serious look at their lives and if you find that you seek a more youthful image, try and put yourself in the frame of mind first and let your body follow you around.
