Allow Yourself To Fight
Poet: Julie Hebert, © 2012
There are some days you may feel,
As if things just aren’t going right.
No amount of attempts to avoid,
You step into the big mud puddle despite!
On these days to give up would be easy,
You’d like to just walk away.
And sometimes taking a step back,
May be exactly the right way.
But at a point you’ll have to decide,
If you’re going to let them win.
This is the time that you’ll look deep inside,
And see if you have it within.
When you are ready to take the next step,
And show that you are ready to fight.
Avoid what you can and it’s okay if you can’t,
Cause know matter what, you’ll be all right.
Each Day Is A Chance
Poet: Catherine Pulsifer, © 2017
Each day we wake up,
We have another chance.
We could just keep on moving,
Or we could decide to dance.
Dance as if you are alone,
And no one will ever see,
As this is your chance,
To see what you could be.
Remind yourself you are someone,
Someone who is grand.
Believe you can do anything,
Get up and take a stand.
Always keep looking forward,
Looking back is never good.
You want to look to the future,
And that is something you should.
Better Days Are Coming
Poet: Wish Belkin, © 2001
If you fear losing somebody you love
like rejection would be no surprise
even if they never said it out loud
you just knew by the look in their eyes
accept that anxiety is due to some action
we took while sleepwalking through life
we would be lying if we tried denying
we cause our own misery and strife.
There is a voice inside of our heads
that tells us of what is to come
deja vu turned upside down
is what it may seem like to some
whether it’s foresight or just premonition
it leaves you feeling quite strange
whisper or shout, it allows for no doubt
that your fortunes are due for a change.
The cyclical nature of the human condition
prevents us from being at ease
it bars the door to the peace that we seek
it’s a lock without any keys
hope and fear are two sides of a coin
a little like Abel and Cane
it’s not every day that just one will hold sway
in the end it adds up to the same.
Listen to this then, if you should find
your emotions won’t give you a breather
I’m telling you, dreams don’t often come true
but the nightmares rarely do either.
How To Make A Mountain Out Of A Molehill
Poet: Alessandra Liverani,, © 2005
First you must pick your molehill, now here’s a tip
The smaller the better, tinier than the tiniest microchip
From this speck you can conjure mountainous masses
Of soaring peaks dropping into bottomless crevasses
Slippery slopes, treacherous overhangs, avalanches
Whipped up as quickly as fluffy blancmanges
Glaciers forwardly creeping destroying as they go
Even if they do it at a speed immeasurably slow
The mountain forged from the molehill, easily soldered
Can the molehill from the mountain so easily be moulded?
I don’t think you can hack it down with an axe
The best way I can think of is to just relax
Wait For Life To Begin
Poet: Julie Hebert, © 2017
When I was still in a stroller, I couldn’t wait to be older,
Life as a child went too slow.
But now that I’m older, I’m somewhat unsure,
Of why growing up quick was needed so.
Even grown, I still am prone,
To wondering when my real life will begin.
First school, then jobs, apartments, and some in between sobs,
Life is much more than just jumping in.
As you grow, you learn, although,
Sometimes its out of your control.
Going with it, without feeling unfit,
Can help you achieve your goal.
WIth a little bit of patience, and a little bit of maintenance,
You will one day achieve your goal.
Just do what you can, with what you have in plan,
And one day success will be in control.
You Can Do It
by Jerry Aragon, Ph. D. (Phunny humor Doctor)

Peer pressure is not just for teenagers!
The ugly face of peer pressure will follow us all to the grave,
by those who would have us go in a different direction with our lives!
So, decide what you want in life,
and don’t let anyone distract you from reaching your goals and your dreams!
You Can Do It!

“What makes us discontented with our condition is the absurdly exaggerated idea we have of the happiness of others.” French Proverb
“Exaggeration is a blood relation to falsehood and nearly as blamable.” Hosea Ballou
