"You know you are getting old when the candles
cost more than the cake."

"You are never too old.
One of many examples, Grandma Moses (1860-1961), she started
painting in her late 70s. She is best known for her documentary
paintings of rural life. If you ever think you are too old, think of
"You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt;
as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear;
as young as your hope, as old as your despair."
Samuel Ullman, What It Means To Be Young
I realized at a very young age that health is precious,
and too many people don't realize it until it's slipping away,
or worse yet, it's gone.
They say that age is all in your mind.
The trick is keeping it from creeping down into your body.

Age is just a number. Yes our bodies do age and our appearance
can change, however, some people start ageing at a very young age.
They are content to sit on a couch and not set any goals. Whereas,
some older people never stop having goals. I think the older you get the
more you realize how short life truly is; and how fast time flies by.
We all need a purpose, a reason to get up every day, no matter what your age.
Catherine Pulsifer, How Old Are You Purpose
If youth is the season of hope, it is often so only in the sense that
our elders are hopeful about us; for no age is so apt as youth
to think its emotions, partings, and resolves are the last of their kind.
Each crisis seems final, simply because it is new.
George Eliot Hope
But, is appearing youthful the road to happiness? To be happy is to be
accepting of who you are and what
you stand for. It also means that you value life and all it gives you where you count your blessings not in terms
of how you look but more how you act and think. I know several people, on the other hand, that are young in years
but are old in their actions, thinking and looks. They seem to be old before their time. When you want to engage in
some activities that require them to use their muscles or to exert themselves a little bit, they reply that they are too
old for those kind of things preferring to sit around and talk, or lounge around by a pool, or to read a book.
